AAUW branch holds annual meeting
The Hot Springs/Hot Springs Village branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) held its annual meeting recently at Cortez Pavilion.
The cold, rainy afternoon did not deter branch members, who gathered to share food and wine and reconnect after months of social distancing. Over the past year, board meetings, book club discussions and programs have all been conducted via Zoom.
President Sue Luerssen updated members on activities for the coming year, and Carol Freeland discussed scholarship news.
The scholarship committee has been authorized to award 10 $1,500 scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year, and applicants are being scheduled for interviews. The annual scholarship luncheon will be held the first Saturday in November and will include recipients from the previous year.
The meeting ended with a game (using the term loosely) of women’s history Bingo/trivia.
